At the 2008 Sail, Power Watersports Show, Stand L80

The Tarquin Boat Company, designer and manufacturer of Trader luxury long range motor yachts will be showing its hugely popular Trader 42 at this year’s Sail, Power and Watersports Show, set to take place from 26th to 30th November. Since its launch last year, the Trader 42 has been an unprecedented success for the Emsworth based company, far exceeding order book expectations in its first year of launch.

With an air-draft that can be reduced to just 3.5m, the 42 makes the ideal craft for cruising the Upper Thames area, which includes towns such as Henley, Marlow, Runnymede and Pangbourne and offers stunning scenery and interesting places to visit. As the first Trader to open up the cruising grounds of the Thames and Europe’s inland waterways, the 42 has already attracted a number of waterside property owners in these areas.

The Trader 42 is one of Tarquin’s most versatile designs to date and and is available with three deck options; a standard raised aft-deck (Trader 42), a hard top version (Trader 42 Sportdeck), and the most recently launched full flybridge version (Trader 42 Signature). Each model variant offers sleek exterior styling, ‘home from home’ interior and state-of-the-art systems. Customers can also select from two internal layouts, giving them the choice of two or three cabins, which is just one of the 75 configurations available.

The model on display at this year’s Show will feature a standard raised aft-deck and a three cabin layout, with a twin cabin forward, a bunk cabin to port and a guest head with a separate shower to starboard. The palatial owner’s suite is located aft for space and privacy and features the distinctive Trader bay-view window giving optimum light and a superb view.

Inside the Trader 42, every effort has been made to create a light, airy and practical living area. The seating has been raised to enable passengers to enjoy the view and two feature skylights, provide and airy open space for dining and relaxing. The galley is well-equipped and fitted to a high standard. The Trader ‘Home from Home’ ethos is evident throughout and no aspect feels compromised by the motoryacht’s dimensions. Conveniently shaped berths with domestic sized mattresses, spacious heads with a separate shower and domestic sized appliances makes living aboard in comfort a reality.

The Trader 42 has maintained the excellent sea-keeping capabilities of the Trader 41+2 and performance is even better thanks to modifications to the hull design detailing which has enabled the propellers to be housed in tunnels to reduce draft and drag, increasing the 42’s speed capabilities up to 25 knots.
