The British Motor Yacht Show: Onboard the Sunseeker Predator 80 and Sunseeker Predator 68

Today marks the second day of the British Motor Yacht Show in Swanwick, and this morning we look at two more Sunseeker yachts from the current range the Predator 80 and the Predator 68.

The Sunseeker Predator 80 is a very progressive yacht. With sleek, sporting lines and a contrasting white and black hull, her contemporary design and specification means she is one of the most advanced models to come off the production line at the Sunseeker International factory in Poole.

The model on display at The British Motor Yacht Show is owned by Sunseeker London, and was the first of its kind to be launched earlier this year. Sunseeker London Senior Sales Broker, Gary Cleaverly, highlights the developments made in this brand new model.

“Quite simply, she is a striking vessel” begins Gary, “full of innovative design ideas and featuring a custom Ken Freivokh design, the Predator 80 is unlike an anything we have seen before with Sunseeker.”

The carbon fibre technology featured in her exterior and interior contribute to the Predator 80s fierce “class leading” appearance, further impacted by the huge hull windows which stretch from the aft Master Cabin all the way to the yacht’s Galley.

The helm station of the Sunseeker Predator 80 is home to many of the vessel’s unique features; the “glass bridge” with its glass designed touch screen dashboard replaces all dials and integrated helm seat controls (including autopilot and bow thrusters) transform the wheelhouse into a piloting area never seen before on a production yacht.

The Sunseeker Predator 80 is the only model of her type available with Sports Fly and high performance Arneson drive options, offering flexibility for those clients looking for something more unique in terms of functionality or power. This particular model is fitted with twin MTU 12V 2000 M94s on shafts, which at 1950hp each, propel her to maximum speeds of up to 36 knots.

Manning the Sunseeker Predator 68 at the British Motor Yacht Show this weekend is Matthew Stanton, Sales Broker at Sunseeker Monaco. Having recently sold a Predator 80 himself, Matthew is very familiar with the new ‘breed’ of Sunseeker Predator, inspired with the Ken Freivokh interior designs.

“The Sunseeker Predator 68 is far and away different to the current Predator 64 and in my opinion is closer to the Sunseeker Predator 74 in terms of size and practicality of use” says Matthew, “with clever use of technology and Sunseeker International’s massive investment in CAD design, both the interior and exterior volumes are quite sensational.” Immediately walking up to the Predator 68, you cannot help but notice the amount of glass that has been employed in making this vessel. The results are breathtaking; a beautifully lit interior that resonates space throughout yacht.

Client reception of the yacht has proven to be one of amazement. “My clients in particular, being based in the Med, love the ability to use the boat all year round due to the huge sunbathing area (achieved by the asymmetrical staircase from the aft platform) and the vast saloon which can either be fully enclosed or opened up by way of a unique four part sliding door arrangement”.

Below deck from the Saloon, there a 3 very spacious cabins comprising of an aft Master, starboard Twin and forward VIP, which all benefit from the aforementioned glass area. “Each cabin has natural light,” explains Matthew, “something a lot of hard top motor yachts cannot claim to offer.” In addition to the accommodation, a large galley is situated just to the port side of the stairs. With the option to be equipped with professional grade appliances, the area can also be closed off with a sliding Japanese door if preferred.

Moving on to technology, Matthew describes how the Predator 68 can be easily piloted by an owner-operator, “or for pure luxury, space is provided for a Captain adjacent to the garage which is accessed from the aft bathing platform.” With a range of the latest navigation, propulsion and manoeuvring technologies (including the Sunseeker JMS system) owners of the Sunseeker Predator 68 can truly achieve the best performance out of the renowned Sunseeker design feature; the deep V-shaped hull.

Both the Sunseeker Predator 80 and 68 are available for immediate delivery with the Sunseeker London. For more information contact your nearest Sunseeker London Group office, details available HERE.
