2013 marks the 36th edition of the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes – the Cannes Boat Show. The event will take place between 10th – 15th September on the glittering Bay of Cannes, famed for glitz, glamour and international premieres.

Arguably the most prestigious event on the yachting calendar, the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes is Europe’s leading in-water boat show and the first international show on the boat show calendar. Spread over the Vieux Port and the Port Pierre Canto, the show will offer over 550 boats on display, built by the leading shipyards. The Vieux Port will showcase inspiring new models and products over the six day event, with a mix of motor boats and sailing boats ranging from 8 to 50 metres in the water, and smaller boats, parts manufacturers and service companies positioned on the land.

The Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes enjoys a reputation which now extends beyond European borders attributed to the quality of products, exhibitors and international visitors which flock to the Festival every year. With more than 50% of foreign exhibitors coming from 34 countries, the Festival has established itself firmly on the yachting calendar as a renowned international boat show. Along with key European countries Italy, Spain, UK and Germany the show and the French yachting industries have welcomed a growing number of international exhibitors from the United States, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Asia, with the emergence of Turkey offering vessels built and finished to a very high standard.

The pontoons of La Croisette will once again play host to key international shipyards including Absolute, Azimut-Benetti Group, Beneteau, Canados, Cantieri Navali Cranchi, Couach, Ferretti Group, Fipa, Fountaine Pajot, Jeanneau, Overmarine, Pershing, Princess Yachts, Riva, Rodriguez Group ou Sunseeker. They will be joined by numerous exhibitors, some of them newcomers, who continue to follow the evolution of the industry including: Baglietto, Chantier JFA Yachts, Harman Yachts, Marlow, Oxygиne Yachts, Sirena Marine, Wim Van Der Valk Continental Yachts.

The 36th Festival retains, of course, the important features that made it so successful to begin with, namely a particularly exhaustive offer of both small and large vessels, sailing and motor boats, 95% of which will be displayed in water and able to be tested at sea at the sea trials.

The Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes is well-known to be an international rendez-vous of worldwide premieres. This year will be no exception, with the show hosting more than 150 new model launches of all sizes which will be presented to boat enthusiasts, amongst them Absolute 64 Fly, AmerCento, Aureus XV Absolute, Azimut 80, Baglietto 44 Fast, Cerri 102, Couach’s 2600 Fly, Cranchi Trawler 5o Long, CNB 76, Delher 38, Dominator 640, Ferretti F960, Fountain Pajot’s Cumberland 47 LC, Jeanneau Velasco 43, Mangusta 94, MCY 86, Moonen 100 Explorer, Oceanis 38 55, Princess 98 MY, Sunseeker Predator 80, Wauquiez Centurion 57

This year, yachting equipment providers will be grouped into a new ‘Equipment Village’, located in the heart of the Pantiero and the show itself at le Vieux Port. The village will give these key providers to the nautical industry a more prominent place within the Festival and its inaugural year will include around 50 exhibitors.
