This year’s Lido Yacht Expo will feature the debut of a brand-new line of boats from the builders of the popular Ranger Tug. The Cutwater 28 — the first of the line — is a trailerable fiberglass sedan cruiser that is new from the keel up. Its unique keel-stepped hull is designed to offer increased stability and outstanding fuel economy, with its 260 hp Yanmar diesel engine: 3 mpg at 9 knots in a recent Sea Magazine boat test. It offers top-speed performance of 28.3 knots.

Notable features include a freshwater sink and shower in the cockpit, along with an optional barbecue; a traditional deckhouse; a comfortable main salon; a breakfast bar; a fully equipped port-side galley with a convertible settee/dinette; a full stand-up private head compartment with an electric flush toilet, sink and shower; and a comfortable master stateroom with a convertible double berth. Best of all, the base price is less than $175,000.

Fairline California will present the Fairline Squadron 58 . which made its world debut at this year’s London Boat Show. It takes full advantage of everything Fairline Yachts has learned in more than 40 years of building fine motoryachts — and what it is still learning from listening to customers from around the world. It offers a full-beam master stateroom with panoramic windows, full-size wardrobes and a large state-of-the-art head compartment. The salon, galley and guest staterooms are equally unmatched for space, facilities and comfort. The bathing platform includes a neatly concealed swing-up transom shower and Fairline’s revolutionary simple-to-use hydraulic Tender Launch System.

Another boat set to appear at this year’s show, the compact but powerful Fairline Targa 38 . offers performance and more luxury accommodation and practical features than you would expect from a sports cruiser in this class. The smallest Targa in this well-proven range has won numerous European awards, including Motorboat of the Year. Capable of 40 knots top-end performance with the largest-available engine options, the surprisingly spacious boat can also accommodate four to six people in comfort — with a large forward cabin with an en suite head, and a guest cabin with generous headroom.

Inspired by classic daysailers of the past, the Bruckmann 42 Daysailer presented by Stan Miller Yachts has a long, low profile with a sleek raised cabin and sweeping sheer. Zurn-designed and Bruckmann-built in 2007, this is an elegant, quality-built performance daysailer. It is rigged for singlehanding, with all controls at the helmsman’s fingertips, and its large cockpit comfortably seats six to eight people. Shoal draft and standing headroom belowdecks make this an ideal weekender that turns heads in any harbor.

Sure to capture the attention of show-goers at Lido, the Ocean Alexander 65 Pilot House features ingenious design that has endowed this yacht with a generous dividend of living space. The wheelhouse feels as big as the view. The master stateroom has grand proportions. A large, well-equipped galley and an imaginative flybridge layout provide an all-new capacity for entertaining. Proven performance with twin 825 hp MTU diesels provide a blend of economy and speed. The hydraulic system has redundant twin pumps for the stabilizers, bow, stern thruster and windlass. The 65’s three-stateroom layout offers plenty of room for guests and the full-size lazarette with walk in entrance to the engine room takes care of all storage needs. Stylish and providing the ultimate in functionality, the new 65 is ready to go.

Lido Yacht Expo show-goers will also get a chance to see a new Grand Banks 45 Eastbay SX . a full-featured Down East cruiser presented by Stan Miller Yachts that combines assertive performance with stylish grace. The first thing you’ll notice is the San Mateo wheat hull color with a Navy blue boot stripe — a head-turner for anyone on the water or at the dock. The 45SX features twin 540 hp diesels that produce nearly 30 knots and a proven C.R. Hunt-designed hull. Inside, the wide 14-foot, 7-inch beam creates a spacious living area, featuring a smartly redesigned helm station, a standard power sunroof and a main aft salon window that disappears at your command. The result is a bright and airy salon that opens gracefully to the aft cockpit, where built-in seating and hand-laid teak add to the feeling of comfort and luxury.

Show-goers can also see an ocean-tested Grand Banks Eastbay 49 HX — a high-quality hardtop express with traditional Down East style and plenty of power. The 49HX can take on the roughest of seas and still provide the comfort and luxury that savvy boaters have come to expect from a Grand Banks. Mathilda features a two-stateroom layout with private en suite heads, a well-appointed main salon and comfortable areas for dining, relaxing and entertaining. The helm deck can be right open, or closed off with a canvas enclosure to provide comfortable all-weather cruising. The current owner has meticulously maintained Mathilda to the highest standards and has added numerous options and extras.

JK3 Nautical Enterprises will showcase two new models from Sabre and Back Cove — including the new Sabre 40 Flybridge Sedan with the Zeus pod drive system, designed for maximum fuel efficiency and maneuverability. It offers remarkable technological advances, yet maintains the classic styling that makes each Sabre yacht so distinctive.

Also featured will be the Back Cove 30 . a grand example of everything that makes the Down East lobster boat a timeless classic. It has a traditional spoon bow and its transom is gently sloped, giving it style that will turn heads in any destination. The Back Cove 30 is ideal for cruising around the harbor or for a weekend trip to Catalina.

Orange Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship will show the Nordlund 68 Raised Pilothouse Wide Waters — designed by Ed Monk and built by Nordlund in 1991, in Tacoma, Wash. — at this year’s Lido Yacht Expo. The well-equipped and proven cruiser is now available for purchase. Originally one of Nordlund’s 63 series, its cockpit was extended 5 feet. This well-done modification greatly improved the vessel’s looks and performance — and, most of all, created a comfortable aft cockpit. This three-stateroom boat features generous owners’ accommodations, a bow thruster, stern controls, stabilizers, air conditioning, a water-maker, two Kohler generators and twin 8V-92 Detroit Diesels.

For those who love serious sportfishing boats, Stan Miller Yachts will show a new Cabo 32 Express — a modern take on the traditionalist’s sportfisher: compact, agile and absolutely seaworthy. Just like the rest of the Cabo fleet, it is designed to meet the specialized needs of the serious saltwater angler, featuring gear and amenities normally found on much larger models. Don’t let the size of this pocket battlewagon fool you. The 32 Express is pure Cabo Yachts inside and out, and is pound-for-pound one of the finest sportfishers in its class.

In addition, a new Cabo 38 Flybridge high-performance sportfisher will appear at this year’s Lido Yacht Expo. Designed to be an excellent intermediate-size boat with one of the driest, most comfortable fishing platforms — and the same ride and handling characteristics of a larger vessel — this sportfisher offers the range and performance that today’s serious sport angler demands. The Cabo 38 Flybridge is all business on deck, but belowdecks it offers understated luxury that won’t disappoint even the most discerning cruiser.
