Sardinia

Sardinia Yacht Charter Information

Sardinia (or Sardegna) is located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, it is the second largest island in the region. It lies about 190 km away from the Italian mainland and about 12km from Bonifacio in Corsica .

Sardinia has a typical Mediterranean climate and there are about 300 days of sunshine every year. The region is influenced by the western Mediterranean and it creates hot and dry summers and short, mild winters. Its geographical location and its 1849 km of coastline have made Sardinia an excellent yacht charter destination in the Mediterranean Sea . especially if you have ample of time to visit.

Sardinia is often considered as a magical Italian island with long sandy coasts, clear, turquoise water, stunning rocky coves and inland lakes which are visited by locals and visitors alike.  It is one of the most popular destinations in Italy for those who love aquatic sports, yacht charter cruises and seaside holidays.

The Sant Antioco San Pietro, which is located off the coast of the southwestern Sardinia, is a group of charming unexploited islands which are worth a visit.

The Sardinian coastline is generally high and rocky and runs fairly straight in many sections and then articulated with promontories and wide and deep bays which are surrounded by islets. The Sardinian ports compete rather well with the other Mediterranean’s chic hot spots.

During the peak seasons, especially in summer, it tends to attract lovely warm days and crowds of millionaires and luxury yachts, especially to the prestigious yacht Club at Porto Cervo .

While chartering a yacht in the region, you will have the opportunity to visit many interesting places like the Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast), Stintino and Asinara Island, Alghero and Capo Caccia, Bosa . Dristan and Sinis, Carloforte Isola di San Pietro, Chia, Cagliari . Villasimius, Costa Rei, Arbatax . The East coast beaches and bays, Cala Gonone, La Caletta Siniscola and Olbia.

Sardinia has many bays, marinas and ports. The Sardinian yacht charter scene has increased in popularity and the types of yacht charter are all the main types of yacht charter including motor, sailing, bareboat charter, skippered, crewed yachts, catamaran, power boat, sailboat, luxury yachts and the ever more frequent super yacht charter.

Like many other parts of the Mediterranean and the famous West coast of Italy, the Sardinian yacht chartering season generally runs from April to the end of October.
