Mochi Craft New Dolphin 64

During the Genoa Boat Show 2006 MOCHI CRAFT presented, in worldwide preview the new Dolphin 64, whose hull is characterised by a new Aquamarine green colour. This colour is an example of the uniqueness desired by Noberto Ferretti, Chairman of the Ferretti Group, which took over the brand in 2001. Thanks to the partnership between Victory Design and the Engineering Division of the Ferretti Group, this desire is now being turned into crafts that reinterpret New England lobster boats with Italian sensitivity.

In the traditional style of the MOCHI CRAFT brand, the new Dolphin 64’ also stands out for the harmonious and rounded forms of its hull, for its distinctive colouring, for the use of fine woods and leather and the sophisticated design of the bitts, carefully milled from a single block of steel and featuring an engraved dolphin, symbol of the shipyard.

As is traditionally the case with lobster boats, originally developed in Maine for catching lobsters, the cockpit is very large and is fitted with a comfortable “bench” sofa astern and a small corner sofa. It resembles an outdoor living room, where guests can also relax in the shade thanks to the extractable bimini. The options include the possibility to add a fixed table and another “bench” sofa, which can be positioned on the transom.

The garage, with electro-hydraulic opening, is positioned below the cockpit and hosts a ready-inflated tender. In addition to the sunbathing area on the bow, it is also possible to access the sun top via a wood and steel ladder. The sun top is positioned on top of the fairing, with soft cushions suitable for up to three people.

A glass sliding door and pivoting window allow plenty of light to enter and optimise the space, separating the cockpit from the dinette where there are two large, symmetrical corner sofas, with the one on the right providing some seating at the dining table. The kitchen is located on the left, towards the bow. It is fully fitted with a large fridge, combined microwave oven and dishwasher.

The kitchen is separated from the dinette by a television unit, which holds a 26 inch plasma screen TV. The steering station is positioned to the right, with an adjustable two-seater leather chair providing access to all the yacht controls.

The lower deck layout comprises three cabins and three bathrooms. The master suite offers a complete range of comforts and, thanks to its position at the centre of the boat, it guarantees extreme stability, even when the boat is moored at sea. The suite also has a very large bathroom, measuring 5 metres square, designed for maximum privacy and commodity. In fact, this large space is fitted with two washbasins, a shower and a WC in 3 completely separate areas.

When entering, a large window acts as the background for the two retro style washbasins, fitted with classically elegant star taps. To the right, a sliding satin-finish glass door provides access to the WC, while, to the left, is a mosaic shower that can comfortably hold two people.

The flooring is all in teak, as is the case throughout the yacht. The Dolphin 64’ thus offers an extremely luxurious bathroom, created for those looking for maximum style and all the comfort of home.

However, MOCHI CRAFT did not just want to “spoil” the ship owner. Guests are also well catered for, with a large VIP cabin at the bow and another double cabin in the centre of the boat. The VIP cabin is provided with light and air by the porthole positioned above the large double bed, and by two large windows on both sides, which reach down to water level, offering direct contact with the sea’s waves.

The bed is positioned on a step, thus making it possible to use four large drawers in the part beneath. The port and starboard walls both offer numerous cupboards, where guests can put all their personal objects. There are also two wardrobes. Guests in the VIP cabin have their own large, welcoming bathroom, with WC and large shower, which can be accessed from both the cabin and the corridor.

The VIP fore cabin has a comfortable double bed, while the guest cabin has twin beds. Each of these cabins has its own private bathroom. A cabin accessed from the cockpit is available for the crew. This cabin has bunk-beds for two people and an extra bed if required, as well as a private bathroom.

As well as in aquamarine, the MOCHI CRAFT Dolphin 64’ is also available in turquoise, coral and beige, in addition to the more classical deep blue and amaranth.

The MOCHI CRAFT lobster boat can accommodate two 1100 Mhp MAN V10 or 1224 Mhp MAN V12 engines. It reaches a cruising speed of 28 knots and a maximum speed of 32 knots.

Finally, it is possible to arrange installation of the innovative Mitsubishi ARG Anti Rolling Gyro System, a Ferretti Group exclusive which allows for over 50% reduction of the rolling caused by wave motion both in navigation and when lying.
