30’ CHRIS CRAFT TOURNAMENT’ SPORTFISH PROJECT BOAT

The 30’ Chris Craft Tournament Sportsfish has a reputation for being an extremely stable yet superb headsea running sports fishing boat. They are sought after today as many people are repowering with diesels since the hull offers an extremely wide beam, full accommodations with very large v-bunks, privacy room, dinette, galley and spacious head along with a very large flybridge that seats four. The cockpit area is very large with engine hatches that provide for excellent bait watching seating. This hull was designed by Hunt for Chris Craft to compete against the emerging market of boats in the 30 foot range, specifically the Bertram 31’. The 30’ Tournament Sportsfish offers a much larger area for creature comforts including the much larger flying bridge along with a much wider beam with the same offshore performance.

Subsequently, Chris Craft was sued by Bertram and had to halt production. The wide beam of the Chris Craft 30’ Tournament provides for a surprisingly spacious cabin below with berths for four, a well-arranged galley area with plenty of storage. A privacy curtain separates the v-berths from the salon and the woodwork throughout is handsome teak. It also brags of over 100 square feet of space in the cockpit. With 300 Horsepower diesel engines, the boat should cruise in the area of 25 knots.

This boat is in the following condition:

The hull and fly-bridge are in very sound condition as is the inside of the hull. The bottom has been completely stripped, filled and repainted with over $4000.00 invested just for the bottom work. The bilge has been stripped and sanded. All the wiring and controls have been removed from the bridge and engine room. The drive-train has been removed as has the struts and shaft logs to accommodate larger engines. The front windshield has been filled in and the old rail holes on the bridge as well as the outrigger holes in the most exterior holes, have been filled.

Some of the existing features of the boat are as follows:

All of the faucets in the interior galley and head have been replaced. All of the windows have been tinted and all of the teak has been varnished. Generally, the interior has been completely finished. The cockpit gunnel combing is brand new, never installed and the flybridge bench seat has been reupholstered and never used.

The following equipment is included:
