Sea Ray 420 Sedan Bridge

Sea Ray 420 Sedan Bridge As the story goes, Charles Darwin happened upon one of science’s most important theories while visiting the Galapagos Islands aboard HMS Beagle. Furthermore, he came up with his treatise on natural selection—the passing on of favorable genetic traits that provides an advantage for survival over other species, especially if that environment changes—long after his return to England. That was in 1858. One hundred and one years later, another man, C.N. Ray, was poised to create one of the boatbuilding industry’s most successful enterprises using a new material called fiberglass. And while in all likelihood Ray did not employ Darwin’s concepts as a model, his company’s ...

680 Sea Ray Sun Sport | Denison Yacht Sales

680 Sea Ray Sun Sport Source: Jay Coyle, Yachting Magazine Sea Ray struts its finely developed stuff with the 680 Sun Sport. Few boat builders invest as much in creating and testing new products as Sea Ray does at its product development and engineering facility in Merritt Island, Florida. The new 680 Sun Sport is proof the investment pays off. She is the most impressive product Sea Ray has introduced, establishing a new large-yacht standard for her builder and raising the bar for others in her class. These days, the market for large sport yachts is specialized, yet active. The exterior play space and interior volume such designs afford, and their ability to cruise at high speeds, make ...

Sea Ray 320 Sundancer

Sea Ray 320 Sundancer

Sea Ray 320 Sundancer Introduced earlier this year, the 320 Sundancer will replace Sea Ray’s popular 310 model, and in my view she’s destined to win the hearts of even more cruising families. Responding to input from focus groups across the country, Sea Ray has made changes in her layout that achieve the seemingly contradictory goals of increased living space and greater stowage capacity. And she’s not just a stretched version of the 310; Sea Ray has given the 320 a new hull form, redesigned for better fore-and-aft balance and a smoother ride in rough seas. Part of the extra space comes from a modest increase in size, an addition of about 20 inches to her overall length and ...

Meet The New God Of The Sea

Meet The New God Of The Sea Newcastle Herald Friday June 20, 2008 Boating Mark Rothfield FORGET catching fire or sinking that’s for wimps. The number one fear of cruiser owners, according to several US surveys I’ve seen, is pranging their boat when getting back into the marina pen. We lose a lot of sales to people who are scared of handling a boat, confirms Sydney Sea Ray dealer Andrew Short. This should alleviate that fear. This is Zeus, the long-awaited engine pod system conceived by Cummins/MerCruiser Diesel (CMD) then installed in a Sea Ray 44 Sundancer for its Australian debut. At the heart of the system, from the driver’s perspective, is a joystick that makes berthing ...

Joystick System Add-On for Twin Diesels

Keep the boat you have but give yourself The Xenta joystick can be placed pretty much wherever the owner wants it. Note its shape, which puts the guts of the unit above the mounting plate. In the engine room, Xenta components mounted on the forward bulkhead share joystick commands with the transmissions and throttle controls. A visual sensor mounted over each prop shaft reads the speed and direction of the shaft turn and feeds the information to the control system. Much of the system uses optic signaling rather than electrical pulses. You love your boat. You’ve finally got it set up just so (and it’s taken a few years), with just enough of the add-ons to make it truly one of ...

40′ Sea Ray 390 EC (Express Cruiser) Super Nice! Fresh Water

40′ Sea Ray 390 EC (Express Cruiser) Super Nice! Fresh Water — $45000 (Chattanooga, TN) 40′ Sea Ray 390 EC (Express Cruiser) Super Nice! Fresh Water: $45,000 1988 Sea Ray 390 EC: This vessel is one of the nicest Cruisers you will find in the U.S. 44′ in length overall. I am toy poor and don’t have time to use it anymore. The PowerBoat Guide had this to say: The 390 Express Cruiser turned out to be one of the most popular boats ever built by Sea Ray. First of the big production express boats when she came out in 1984, her sleek lines and European styling—tame by today’s design standards—made a lasting impression on the mid-1980’s sport ...

The Different Types of Propulsion Found in Sea Rays — SeaRay Finder

The Different Types of Propulsion Found in Sea Rays 1. Stern Drive Twin Bravo 3 Sterndrives on a 2009 Sea Ray 33 Sundancer, During Survey. Sterndrives, also called Inboard/Outboards, are a very efficient form of propulsion and can be found on Sea Ray boats ranging from 17′ to 38′. They consist of a motor being placed inside the boat directly against the transom wall as far back in the boat as possible. They are directly connected to an exterior drive unit to which a propeller is attached on the “stern” of the boat, hence the name. In Sea Rays, sterndrives are only utilized with gas powered engines. There is an option for a diesel sterndrive, but it is extremely rare ...

Sea Ray 480 Motoryacht Review (click image to enlarge) Related Categories Sea Ray 480 Motoryacht Issue: September 2002 Manufacturer: Sea Ray The Modern Boating team first saw the Sea Ray 480 Motoryacht at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, where Barry Bailey, Manager of Sea Ray s Asia Pacific arm, told us he was keen for people to compare the new boat s interior space with its competitors. So we took up the offer to checked out his sales pitch. Once below decks it was obvious. In terms of interior space — usable, liveable space — the Sea Ray 480 Motoryacht has few, if any, peers. Or at least few that aren t much, much bigger. Barry continued his spiel, telling us that the concept ...

Maggan 1 [Archive] — Yachting and Boating World Forums

My Boat experience starten 2007 when I bought a Sea Ray 220 Sunsport. Two years later i upgraded to Sun Sport 240. When the children grow older my boating interest also started to grow. In the spring 2011 I happened to se a boat at an auction (without the family knowing anything) and I bought it as a family surprise. It was a Jeanneau Prestige 34s from 2005 in not so good condition! Last Winter I made some extensive fixing on the boat and before this summer it was in excellent condition. BUT with the whole family on the boat it felt to small…… After this summer I decided it was time for a new family surprise…. I looked at a lot of different boats and initially I dident want it to be a ...
