Misty River is sold — ownership transfered

email Us

Misty River survived the winter with nary a scratch and is ready to launch and commission.

It has been decided that we will sell the boat once and for all. This boat is perfect for Ontario Lakes.

Misty River is a heavily laid up fiberglass boat by one of the industry premier and best loved brands CARVER. She is sweet and solid, currently sitting in storage at the shop in 19 km from Belleville. You simply can’t buy a new boat this good. Spend your money on boating not interest, while burning less than a half the fuel todays boats of the same size use. This fly bridge vessel is a low-profile coastal and inland fisherman with SPACIOUS cockpit and interior accommodations

Misty River is fast enough (22 mph reported) to make the open part of a Duck passage in a half hour, yet tough enough to get you home from mid lake if the bottom drops out of the weather. With the single pre emmission ford you will burn only a small fraction of the fuel of todays twin engine, emission strangled monsters.

Photo taken July 14, 2009. Everything secure and doing well. A little dust but not a bit of teak to touch up and your biggest hurdle will be a spring wash.

The last survey states that there is no signs of osmoses, blistering, or de laminating and that this vessel is in good condition, has been well constructed and maintained throughout her career. The engine has good compression, starts easily and runs well. The transmission and gear work and shift flawlessly. The prior owner has replaced almost all accessories, as well as new belts and marine compliant hoses. It was his objective to make her as reliable and safe as possible as in Georgian Bay. The boat has the feel of a classic car with just enough wood to feel right.

The 120 shore power wising and breaker panel are new. All 12 V wiring is orderly and in good shape with two new AGM completely sealed batteries ( $350.00 ) each. THere are complete wiring diagrams for all systems. The 351 motor is also equipped with a new Mallory breaker less high energy distributor. There are no tankageissues and the bilges are spotless.

Overall the boat is neat as a pin with great attention spent on fine detail. The age of the hull is an advantage as this ie heavy early fiberglass that is easy to repair and much heavier than anything you will find produced in a boat of this size today. The single engine giving you planing speeds and very economical operation, probably in the range 60% less fuel consumption than a twin of the same size as you are not lifting that extra weight.
