Carver 570 Voyager (Not in Production) Captain’s Report

The 570 Voyager is the flagship of the Carver fleet and boasts of elegant accommodations and impressive features. At first glance her smooth lines and aerodynamic look are very pleasing to the eye, but closer inspection reveals the amount of skilled craftsmanship and engineering foresight that have gone into this attractive and modern yacht.

This pilothouse designed cockpit motoryacht is a fine example of the blending of refined craftsmanship and superb layout to produce an elegant cruising yacht with functionality in mind. The hull is built in Pulaski, Wisconsin by 1500 highly skilled craftspeople and their pride comes through in each completed hull. The hull itself is made completely wood-free in structure below the waterline and features closed cell urethane cored sides below the waterline as well.

Thanks to the 15’4” beam, the salon is open and relaxed with two barrel seats or a loveseat to port, a breakfast bar extending from the galley, and an L-shaped ultra-leather lounge to starboard. Entertaining is easy with the removable and convertible table, and your guests can relax and enjoy music or a movie with the onboard entertainment system. The galley is u-shaped in design and features all of the conveniences of a full-size kitchen. Under the counter is a side-by-side refrigerator and freezer. On top of the solid surface counter top there’s a two-burner stove, convection microwave oven, optional coffee maker, and a double sink.

Just forward of the galley and up two steps is the pilothouse with comfortable seating for five on the ultra leather couch to port and a captains helm chair that looks more like that of a CEO’s. From here the captain can pilot the vessel through inclement weather with every piece of information within easy sight and reach.

Just to starboard of the lower helm is a beautifully curved companionway with rich cherry walls that is typically only seen in custom mega yachts. It leads directly to the plush accommodations.

The master stateroom is located aft and utilizes the entire beam of the boat. It features an island pedestal bed and is accented by beautiful lacquered cherry trim, elegant chrome and gold appointments, and a luxurious vanity with mirror, large cedar lined closet, and an entertainment system. The master head is located ensuite and features a large bathtub and shower

combination. The VIP guest stateroom is located forward and features an island pedestal bed, mirrored headboard, cedar lined closets, television, ample storage compartments, and a private entrance into the guest head that contains a vanity and a shower stall.

A third stateroom is located to port and is just perfect for the kids or crew with over and under bunks.

The flybridge is a wide-open space with comfortable seating for five in the aft lounge with removable table. Complimenting this social area is a full wet bar with sink and storage and there’s an optional Jen air grill available. This dual seat even rotates to face forward. The helm is the command center for the captain and features a single helm chair, full instrumentation, and excellent visibility.

The Volvo D-12 diesel engine was specially designed for faster planing boats, and it features Volvo’s Electronic Diesel Control system. Electronically controlled ignition timing provides more fuel-efficient combustion in the cylinders, which means you get better fuel economy, higher power, and reduced exhaust emissions. The engine itself features six electronic unit injectors, a gear-driven fuel pump, freshwater cooled turbo charger and air cooler, and of course, electronic engine controls and displays for precise rpm settings and easy engine diagnostics. Better still, the D-12 develops maximum torque at just 1400 rpm to get the bigger yachts up and running in a hurry.

Our performance test results were impressive as well. With an overall length of 59’2”, draft of 4’ 9”, and a weight of 52,500 pounds fully loaded the 570 Voyager produced a cruising speed of 26.8 mph generated by the pair of 675hp Volvo D-12’s, giving her a range of 352 miles between fill ups. Top speed for the Voyager was 32.6 MPH and quiet as well, at only 78 decibels. We did note that in a following sea the waves tend to get trapped under the massive dive platform and that this will occasionally shudder the hull of the vessel. The stability of the hull underway was good due in part to the low profile design of this pilothouse style cruiser and the hull design by Carver engineers.

This elegant and well-designed cruising yacht offers comfort and style without giving up luxury. Be sure to go aboard one at your local Carver dealer or at your next boat show and see for yourself just how beautiful this motoryacht is.
